Maddie Merriweather is proud to support the Wahine Classic Surfing Competition in Wrightsville Beach, NC again this summer. The two-day event, which will be held August 12-13, 2017, invites women and girl surfers, and offers divisions for both amateur and pros. The mission of the event is to promote surfing and wellness in women and girls of all ages.
It’s fun to watch the surfing. If you’re there, don’t miss the Teenie Wahine division with surfers 10 and under which is usually on Sunday.
Each year the surfing competition selects a charity or two to receive a portion of the proceeds from the event. This year the beneficiaries will be Roots to Recovery, an organization that supports women with children dealing with opioid and other addictions and the Southern North Carolina District (SNC) of the Eastern Surfing Association (ESA).
