This is about the time of year when small business owners (well, like us) start getting stressed about taxes. As so when the accountants delivered the overall picture from 2018, one thing really stood out — our charitable giving. Over the course of one year, we’d been able to donate $3,900 to non-profits. Something to feel great about.
And where does the money for these charitable donations come from? Well, mostly from sales made during our trunk shows. Many of our hostesses elect to give their percentage of the show to their favorite non-profit. The remainder is generally money we give to the U.S. Forestry Service to help replace the substantial amount of paper we sell each year.
Even from the time we started thinking about what we would want in a business, we knew that giving back had to be part of the equation. And it just goes to show — small businesses can do really big things.
